September 11, 1940: An important Pan Am milestone.  The day when Pan Am's B-314 "American Clipper" NC 18606, set out to fly the first passengers from San Francisco to Auckland NZ, with Captain Kenneth V. Beer in command .

Pan Am’s Art Deco Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia features the evocative WPA Mural "Flight" by James Brooks and a newly installed B-314 "Yankee Clipper" Model commissioned by the Pan Am Historical Foundation thanks to ongoing support from our members & donors!
