Memorial Reception for Mary Goshgarian

It is not the usual custom to note the passing of individuals on this website, but Mary Goshgarian's contributions deserve nothing less.

Mary began a thirty-five year career with Pan American World Airways in 1956, rising to become "Clipper Skipper" of the Clipper Club at Miami International. She finished that great career with the airline just months before the cessation of operations in 1991, but Mary had a great deal more to contribute to Pan Am.

Working with other former Pan Amers, Mary helped keep the Pan Am legend alive. She was the motivator and guiding light for the Pan Am AWARE store in Miami, organizer of annual reunions, and was among the early director of the Pan Am Historical Foundation. She was unwavering in her support for any effort that would keep the legacy of Pan Am front and center in the public's consciousness, and her passing earlier this month will leave a space in the Pan Am community that will likely never be filled.

The Pan Am Aware Store sponsored a memorial reception for Mary in the Lobby of the Pan Am Flight Academy on Saturday 11 July 2015.
