Norman Rockwell and Pan Am
Norman Rockwell's work reflects his interactions with people all over the world, and went on view in an exhibit at the United Nations in New York, We the Peoples: Norman Rockwell's United Nations, through September 15, 2015. A previous exhibit in 2007 was also staged by the Norman Rockwell Museum: Around the World with Norman Rockwell displayed the artist's travel sketchbook and images that later led to a highly successful Pan American World Airways advertising campaign. The sketches were made throughout his tour abroad in 1956, a trip sponsored by Pan Am.

To get a closer look at the artist's sketches and the photographs leading up to the creation and publication of Pan Am's ads, you can also look through the museum's Digital Collection on their website:
The museum promoted their 2007 exhibit with a wonderful video, presented in two parts on Youtube, that includes footage from Rockwell's Pan Am adventures.
