Betty Trippe's Hindenburg Journey
Photos: In 1936 when Betty Trippe traveled with her husband, Juan, across the Pacific by Pan American Clipper on one of the first transoceanic passenger flights, she thought they would be coming back the same way. Juan had yet to confide to her that they would fly back to the Western Hemisphere on the airship Hindenburg from Europe. Betty was an inveterate and excellent photographer, and these are some of the wonderful pictures she took on that journey.
